Our Inspiration

The South Western capes of Australia enjoy a distinct shift of season. In such a place, the cycle of seasons defines its identity, offering a sensory journey through color, texture, and climate, each season offering its own unique expression and beauty.

With spring comes a burst of new life, of blooming flowers and fresh greenery. Humpback whales take pause in the bay to rest and play before their migration South calls them on. The days are mild and the place feels alive with energy and color.

As summer arrives, the surrounds relax under a sun-soaked warmth. The ocean beckons you to fill your days with play, and each afternoon the sea breeze is greeted like an old friend. The atmosphere is vibrant, a sense of freedom in the air.

When autumn greets us, the landscape is bathed in rich, golden hues. The salmon run through the bay forming swirling black whirlpools, as anglers gather on the sand, feeling lucky. The once lush greenery gives way to more muted tones, creating a feeling of calm and reflection.

As winter sets in, the place takes on a quieter, more introspective quality. Dynamic storm fronts flirt with the coastline, and when it’s ready, the calm settles in once again. The cold air brings a crispness, the soft, muted light creating a tranquil, almost timeless atmosphere.

Along with the feeling, this seasonality blesses us with a diverse harvest, fresh seasonal catch, and an abundance of vine ripened grapes that are picked, crushed and attentively transformed into world class wines. Some incredible local wine makers have put Margaret River on the map, and our Showcase Series invites them into our home to share everything they know and love about the wine, the place, and the joy that comes with of experiencing it all.
