The Backstory
ilma Beach House is a celebration of heritage, family, and the natural beauty of the South West. It is a place to unwind, celebrate, and embrace a relaxed pace of life
Owners Liz and Mark, inspired by their Maltese roots and their deep connection to the local landscape, have created a space where hospitality and community meet. The name “ilma,” meaning “water” in Maltese, reflects the essence of the Mediterranean, bringing a sense of calm, refreshment and togetherness.
Having already established the success of Meelup Farmhouse, Liz and Mark saw the idyllic beachside location of Bunker Bay as the perfect backdrop to bring their vision to life. Liz's ties to Malta, through her mother, have strongly influenced the venue’s vision—one that connects to both heritage and nature.
